puddles and sticks

When my Grandpa Ken & Grandma Marlene came to visit, we rode our bikes to the pier in the next town. We went for a nice walk along the pier which is a big peninsula with water on both sides - I LOVE water and it had just rained so I got to splash in all the puddles! And of course, pick up a few big sticks along the way.

Beach time in April!

We've had 4 consecutive days of 80+ degree spring days here, perfect days for the beach! We went to the Greenwich, CT beach twice in the last four days - 1st with our neighbors, then mom took me with some friends. I liked hanging out on the beach last summer, but this year I'm on the move. I couldn't get enough of plunking the sand in the water and getting right in the waves. I wanted to be in the water even though the cold was turning my feet bright red! I guess it's still only April after all.

A shovel with some sand, water and a bucket - what more does one need?

A time out from sand moving to check out the boats with dad

Steady hands and serious focus...now we're starting to move some major sand. Alecia & Isaiah

Pushing buttons!

I usually don't get to do this but I guess I caught dad at a good moment because he let me show him what I can do on the computer! Look out mom & dad - I've got potential to be a techie!

Picnics and bikerides

New York's spring weather finally broke through and mommy and daddy took me on one adventure after another this weekend! I'm usually knocking on the door from sunrise to sunset wanting to get outside so finally we had a day of nothing but outdoor time! From picnics to bikerides to rollerblades to stroller rides to more bikeriding to eating outside - it was grand! I especially liked the eating outside part!!

I'm ready - I've got my stick!

Picnic time!

How I love the feeling of water and mud on my hands!
Mom, can I
please just get all the way in the water?!
Eager to get on the bike...but still not quite so excited about the helmut!

Okay, enough with the pictures - let's get on with the biking!

Easter!

We took a road trip to PA this year for an Easter celebration! Nana & Papa flew out from MN and cousin Lauren, Uncle Ben & Aunt Megan drove up from DC and we all met at Lauren's other grandmom and grandpop's house! What fun to just play all weekend - at the park, going on bike rides with our moms and dads.

Lauren let me push her on her tricycle- Mom says she's so patient with me but I like to think we're quite the team!

Grandpa taught us the fun of getting up high climbing trees...

We did some biking - I liked to watch Lauren!

AND the highlight was we had our very first Easter egg hunt together! I was SO excited when I found the eggs!

Sometimes I needed a little help from grandpa to get started...

And there were even surprises inside too!

On the move

With all the outdoor play, still had a little quiet moments with Nana
The clan - our group photos become more entertaining with each new visit!

1st Birthday!

Playing with a few friends +
opening a few gifts +
eating pizza +
cupcakes (my first time to try real sugar!)

= my first birthday party!

I officially turned one year old on February 10th! It's my first time trying it out.. but I think I like celebrating my birthday! Mom & Dad both took the day off and we went swimming in the morning at the YMCA, (I get really excited to get in the water and I eagerly kick my legs trying get mom in the water faster), then we walked over for a little lunch at the Art Cafe where I loved looking at and flirting with all the other people, had a little nap and then we went to the zoo! My first trip to the Bronx Zoo - it was a thrill. I got to see the sea lions and the penguins being fed, tigers, camels, lots of birds...it was great and we pretty much had the place to ourselves! My favorite part was when mom and dad let me push the stroller and walk around - I don't like to sit for very long but I'm very happy to move and try out my new skill of walking - check me out in the little video below.

snow, Snow, SNOW!

Now, where are those snowpants mom? - the white stuff is coming down out of the sky and I'd like to get out there and play! Okay, so I'm maybe not looking for my outdoor gear yet, but I do love to look in the closets, try out opening and closing the doors and throw out the mittens, scarves, etc from the basket when we're getting ready!

Is this how the scarf goes on?

Snow! What a grand idea and so fun to play in...I especially like to be pulled around on the sled. The faster the better and the louder I giggle and squeal!

mmmmm....my first taste of snow! I kind of like the cold to soothe my gums where those teeth are coming in.

Christmas in MinneSOta!

CHRISTMAS! Mom, Dad & I celebrated my 1st Christmas Eve in New York - my first run at opening gifts! I really was enthralled with tearing the paper and peeking at what was hiding underneath. Kind of like my favorite game - peekaboo!

Then it was on to Minnesota for a whole week of Christmas fun with Nana, Papa, Uncle Ben, Aunt Megan & Cousin Lauren. I got to socialize with SO many other people too - lots of family to play with! Loved seeing my great-grandparents!

One of the traditions of mommy's family is opening gifts up in the morning in our pajamas...what fun we had. See how big I am?

Daddy dressed me up in Santa Bear's Christmas garb...

There was music being played almost everyday, we did a lot of singing and I tried out my piano skills - can't wait until you can teach me more Grandma!

I LOVED having a constant playmate in Lauren! I would just squeal with delight and chase after her at my fastest crawls. I liked to take off and then peak back to see if she was following me sometimes too :)

Grandpa & Grandma were great to read Lauren & I stories at all hours of the day. I really like being able to open up things on books and turn the pages.

Let's play, play play! Can we get one of these at home Mom & Dad?

When we weren't having parties, we had a lot of outdoor fun in the Minnesota wild with all the SNOW! Grandma & Grandpa have a huge playground in their backyard with the snow covered golf course. What fun sledding Lauren & I had while everyone else snowshoed & skiied. Someday we'll maybe get to try those things on our feet too...but I guess first I need to figure out how to walk. Oops...mom can't find these pics of me in the snow but here's one of uncle Ben & Daddy.

Lauren showed me how to do a butterfly kiss when we had to say goodbye. See you at our birthday celebration!
